Summary The Senior Records and Data Control Specialist processes and evaluates a large volume of first year and transfer applications each year. Reporting to the Transfer Application Supervisor, you will perform data entry tasks associated with the intake of admissions documents for undergraduate first year and transfer applications. You will acquire and maintain knowledge of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions processes and workflows. Additionally, the position will also require the ability to navigate multiple technological systems used to facilitate the work; specifically Peoplesoft Student Information System, Slate Customer Relations Management tool, and Perceptive Content imaging software. U-M is in high demand having received nearly 93,000 undergraduate first-year and transfer applications in the fall of 2023 and enrolling 8,800 incoming students.Reporting to the Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs, the Office of Enrollment Management (OEM) manages U-M's enrollment function to efficiently optimize students' experiences throughout their engagement, from prospect to alumni. The division collaborates with campus partners, faculty, and staff, in support of the university's mission and commitment to academic quality, accessibility, diversity, equity, and inclusion.OEM comprises a dedicated team of more than 200 full-time staff members, and up to 400 additional student and temporary staff and is structured in five operational units the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of Financial Aid, the Office of New Student Programs, the Office of the Registrar, and OEM Administration. OEM strives to provide excellence in access and support to diverse and inspiring learners who will challenge the present and enrich the future. Responsibilities* Assist with monitoring transfer application update requests and workflows. Process information and documents from various workflows and mailboxes into student records. Process and complete transfer applications, including the recalculation of the applicant's GPA.Identify and resolve errors related to the processing of application documents/materials through the workflows. Use Slate CRM and Peoplesoft systems to resolve errors related to transfer applications. Make decisions related to the appropriate routing of materials through undergraduate admissions workflows.Respond to written inquiries and requests from staff, students, and applicants.Investigate and resolve organization code errors.Identify, interpret, and code admissions documents in order to appropriately match these documents to the correct student record and application checklist items. Send and track email communications to transfer applicants, as it relates to issues with their application documents.Assist in the development and revision of unit processes and procedures in response to technological or organizational changes and enhancements.Assist with training and help update training materials. Assist with other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications* High school diploma and two years of experience in a production oriented office. Desired Qualifications* Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience working with customer relations management (CRM) tools, such as Slate.Experience working within student database systems, such as PeopleSoft.Experience handling the routing of materials/data through complex workflows.
